 Close to picturesque ancient port of Alvor with its' beautiful beach is Alto Golf and Country Club. The new part of the town of Alvor, bustling with shops, bars and restaurants, lies behind the coastal village. The Country Club is set in several acres of gardens, ornamental pools and waterfalls.
 The facilities offered are extensive and include floodlit tennis courts, a health and beauty centre, gymnasium, outdoor pool and children's paddling pool, putting green and children's playground. All residents at Alto Golf and Country Club have free membership of the indoor leisure complex which includes a large indoor heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi and solarium.
 The heated pool usually has morning and evening sessions reserved exclusively for adults.
 Cotton's bar and restaurant (named after the famous Sir Henry Cotton), overlooks the swimming pool and gardens. It is the focal point of the Country Club and serves regional and international cuisine in a relaxing environment, overlooking the pool and gardens. Live music and dancing is a regular feature.
 Alto Golf is about 2 km away from the Country Club and was opened in 1991. It was the last course designed by Sir Henry Cotton and boasts many fine features. This 18 hole, par 72 course spreads over two valleys with excellent inland views to the Monchique hills. At the clubhouse there is a Pro shop and the resident PGA professional runs a golf academy. Practice areas include a driving range, putting green and practice bunker enabling you to hone your skills during your stay. The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant overlooking the 18th green.
 Alto Golf and Country Club offers one and two bedroom apartments in four locations, one at the Country Club and three at Alto Golf. The one bedroom apartments have one bathroom and the two bedroom apartments have one bathroom en suite and one shower room. All apartments are privately owned and are, therefore, individually presented. All are well decorated and furnished - where there is a sofa bed, two additional children up to the age of 12 can be accommodated free of charge. Two additional adults or children over 12 years old can be accommodated on fold up divans, for which there is a charge.
 The Country Club apartments are located at the main resort within walking distance of the all the facilities, with the beach and town only about 1 km away.
 The Golf club apartments are set in landscaped grounds, adjacent to the driving range and within walking distance of the nearest beach and a small selection of bars and restaurants including the Alto Golf Clubhouse. Facilities include a smaller outdoor pool with a children's paddling pool and free tennis court. All guests staying at the Golf apartments have free access to the facilities at the Country Club.
 The Alto Praia do Vau apartments overlook the 13th fairway and enjoy a southerly view across the back nine of Alto Golf with the lower apartments having private gates from their terraces to the pool and gardens. These properties offer the same high standards of decoration and furnishing as all Alto properties and enjoy full access to all the resort facilities at the Country Club as well as discounted green fees at Alto Golf. Praia da Vau beach is about 1.5 km away. Play golf at Alto on a four night or seven night golf package and stay at the Praia do Vau apartments.
 The Alto Club House apartments were completed in 2003. Situated adjacent to the club house, where the restaurant and bar are located, it is only a short walk to the first tee from these apartments. All guests have access to the facilities at the Country Club and to resident rate green fees. These apartments have their own shared pool and gardens. The apartments are furnished and equipped to a high standard and enjoy views over the 10th fairway and the back nine of Alto Golf from the terraced balconies - some apartments may have a second terrace area. Presidents beach is about 1.5 km away with a choice of other beaches and Alvor and Praia da Rocha just 5 minutes drive away by car or taxi.
 Pool/beach towels are provided and there is a twice weekly maiding service. Reception is open between the hours of 9am - 6pm and an out of hours key collection service is provided. A €150 refundable security deposit (key) is required locally on arrival.
There is wide choice of accommodation to choose from which, together with the many facilities offered, makes Alto Golf and Country Club a popular venue for families and golfers alike.
