The View is a cliff top sanctuary consisting of 55 village house overlooking the charming fishing village of Salema. This is a deluxe beach resort and commands spectacular views over the beach to the ocean beyond. Salema lies between the cosmopolitan town of Lagos and the historic maritime port of Sagres and is the perfect base from which to explore the  natural park of Costa Vicentina and the truly unspoilt villages, deserted sandy beaches, such as Figueira and secluded coves of the Western Algarve. The View is only 20 minutes drive from the Forteleza de Sagres where Henry the Navigator had his Maritime School, Cape St Vincent lighthouse on the most  westerly point of Europe and the little populated beaches of the west coast where the west winds coming off the Atlantic whip up the waves so popular with the sand yachters and surfers. This coastline is well worth exploring for the spectacular views it offers.
The View has it's own 24 hour reception, bar/bistro and communal outdoor heated pool. Clients at The View also  enjoy discounted golf (30% discount) and all of the facilities at Parque da Floresta Golf & Leisure Resort which is only 5 minutes drive away, a little inland.
There is a selection of luxuriously furnished, superbly appointed two and three bedroom beach village houses to choose from, all categorised as deluxe. Each house has its  own spacious balcony, roof terrace and gas BBQ and all properties have access to the shared heated swimming pool and outdoor areas. On your arrival, there will be a welcome pack (fruit and water) waiting for you.
 These deluxe houses are the ultimate in comfort and design; the living area and bedrooms are fully air conditioned and there is also underfloor heating should it be needed. The kitchens are beautifully appointed with granite work tops and are equipped with hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Satellite TV with access to the UK free channels is standard and the living areas are furnished with sofas and dining  table to suit. Patio doors lead out onto a balcony furnished for outside dining. The bedrooms are on the ground floor: there is a master room usually with a king size double bed, large wardrobe with digital safe and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom usually  has twin beds and an en suite shower room. Outside, there is a terraced area within the gardens for your private use and the gas BBQ will either be on this terrace or the balcony off the first floor. A spiral staircase leads off the first floor balcony to the roof terrace above.
 There is a large heated pool with two small circular pools for children set in a terraced area on which there are ample sun beds provided. The poolside bar bistro has patio doors opening onto this terrace and provides inside and outside dining areas. Light snacks, drinks and ice creams are available throughout the day and  from 6pm, bistro evening meals are served. Adjoining the bar/bistro is a relaxation area with comfy seating, overlooking a waterfall area and the terrace. A wide screen TV is provided in this lounge and stairs lead down to the reception area.
All guests staying at a Vigia Resort are welcome to use the facilities at Parque da Floresta and recreational facilities of all kinds are available for those of you who wish to mix a little lounging in the sun with some more energetic activities. Full list of facilities
 A wide choice of restaurants is available within a 5 - 10 minute drive but there is also a variety of dining options available on your doorstep in Salema itself and at the flagship resort of Parque da Floresta. A Taberna Restaurant and Bar is in the Quinta da Encosta Vehla village and at Parque da Floresta, the O Parque Restaurant serves breakfast - full English and continental from 07.30 to 11.00 hours and an à la carte menu in the evening from 19.00 hours to 22.00 hours.  The Spike Bar is open daily from 8 'til late for snacks and light meals and the poolside Blue Lagoon Restaurant also offers light meals and snacks from 12.00 - 17.00 hours with the bar open for slightly longer. Vicentino's Trattoria is open from 12.00 - 22.30 hours for Italian dishes and pizzas to eat in or take away. The Blue Wave Beach Bar is at Cabanas Vehlas Beach and serves light salads, snacks & fresh fish from 10.00 - 22.00 hours and the bar is open until midnight.
The main recreational facilities at Parque da Floresta are centred on the spa, tennis and golf facilities. The Health & Beauty Spa & Fitness Centre at Parque da Floresta, Spa Floresta, offers a range of treatments and therapies, as well as a  personal fitness and exercise programme. The facilities are superb and include an air conditioned gymnasium and exercise studio, heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and hair studio. The steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are reserved exclusively for adult use (over 16 years of age) and the indoor pool is only available  to under 16s, accompanied by an adult, between 08.30 - 12.00 hours. There are four floodlit tennis courts with a choice of surface from hard court to artificial grass court. Bookings for courts are taken at Parque da Floresta reception and lessons are available, especially for juniors and beginners.
 The Parque da Floresta 18 hole par 71 golf course was designed by the Spaniard, Pepe Gancedo. With no two holes even remotely similar, the variety the course offers is endless. The Vigia Golf Academy has the latest in video and computer technology to help analyse your swing and the resident PGA qualified professionals are on hand to offer tips  on how to improve your game.
