 Situated in the heart of the Algarve, only 45 km drive form Faro airport, Porches Praia Ocean Suites are located on a cliff top with spectacular views of the ocean and Senhora da Rocha beach. The Viking Resort is only 1 km form Armacao de Pera and only 15 minutes drive from the centre of Portimao. The gardens are extensive and loungers and umbrellas are provided around the terracing of the pools and lawned areas.
 The Viking Resort comprises two parts: there is the 182 bed Viking Hotel and Porches Praia with 60 resort suites.
The resort suites at the Porches Praia have an ocean or garden view and have one or two bedrooms. The one bedroom apartments can sleep up to 4 people and the two bedroom apartments up to 6 people. The bedrooms all have twin beds  and there is a sofa bed available. The apartments all have air conditioning, satellite TV with some English speaking channels, free wireless Internet, laundry services and a kitchen equipped with all you should need to make your holiday comfortable. The resort suites are an important part of the resort and all guests have use of the many facilities  throughout the resort. Underground parking is provided at Porches Praia and guests check in at the reception of the adjacent Viking Hotel. There is a regular shuttle bus service to Armacao de Pera from the resort. Entertainment is provided every night between April and October and Portuguese and Brasilian BBQ nights take place, outside on the large terrace, from time to time.
The resort offers a choice of several bars and three restaurants which have been designed to appeal to every taste, featuring originality, quality and service. The Valhalla Restaurant, specialising in Portuguese  and International food and the Tapas Restaurant are located at the hotel whilst the Belmundo Restaurant, featuring an Italian menu, can be found at Porches Praia.
The resort has a wide variety of facilities including 4 pools (two are reserved for children), a floodlit tennis court, gardens and a play park for children. The Wellness Centre houses one of the pools together with a Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath,  gymnasium, professional massage, hair salon, a games room and a multi sports pitch (tennis, basketball & 5 a side football). A kid's club runs from May to October and it is possible to organise other activities such as walks, trekking, cycling, horse riding and boat trips via reception.
A drive of around 15 minutes from the hotel will bring you to Pestana Carvoeiro Golf with the spectacular Gramacho and Pinta courses and the David  Leadbetter academy. Both golf courses are available to play on the special “Unlimited Golf” programme.
In addition to the ideal location of the Viking Resort, it is also close to many major regional amenities such as diving centres, riding schools and places of historic interest.
