 Located on Praia dos Tres Irmaos,1 km from the village of Alvor, 5 km from the city of Portimao and 60 km from the airport at Faro, The Alvor Praia Beach & Golf Hotel provides a marvellous view of the Atlantic Ocean and direct beach access. The hotel, completely renovated during 2003, has the most modern facilities and is an ideal place for leisure and relaxation.
 The 6 storey Alvor Praia Hotel has 195 rooms, including 19 suites. Most rooms have sea views and all of them have balconies. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV which includes some English speaking channels, radio, mini bar, telephone, safe, hair dryer and internet access.
A variety of cuisine is on offer such as the Harira restaurant which provides an à la carte service with international cuisine and Moroccan specialities. The Sale & Pepe Restaurant offers an à la carte service and buffet with Italian cuisine. The restaurant specialising in Portuguese cuisine, also providing an à la carte and buffet service, is the Almofariz. Close to the swimming pool can be found the Pool Bistro which serves grills and international cuisine - the pool bar is close by too.  There is also a Cyber café.
Other facilities provided at this 5* hotel include a cocktail bar with daily entertainment from 9 - 12 pm. There is 24 hour room service, a laundry service, private parking, lifts to all floors and lift access direct to the beach which can also be reached by footpath which meanders through the gardens. The beach is  sandy and there is an area available for hotel guests with loungers and umbrellas provided. Water sports can be enjoyed from this beach also. A children's club is run from the nearby Dom Joao Hotel and there is a playground on the beach. The club is staffed during the summer with free transport provided from the Alvor Praia. Alternative arrangements operate in the low season.
 For sporting activities, the hotel has 2 heated, seawater swimming pools, one indoor and the other outdoor, as well as 7 tennis courts (5 clay & 2 hard) and in indoor gymnasium.
For leisure and pampering, the Health Club is equipped with a Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, power shower and plunge pool. The Wellness Centre is also on hand with a wide variety of beauty therapies and a hair salon. Treat yourself to one of the  facial, eye or body treatments, beauty essentials, specialist body treatments and half or full day packages.
For the golfer, there is a driving range, putting green and mini golf. A drive of around 15 km from the hotel will bring you to Pestana Carvoeiro Golf with the spectacular Gramacho and Pinta courses and the David Leadbetter academy. Both golf courses are available to play on the special “Unlimited Golf” programme.
