 Carved out of the hillside between the cosmopolitan town of Lagos and the historic maritime port of Sagres, lies Parque da Floresta. Parque da Floresta is only 20 minutes drive from the Forteleza de Sagres where Henry the Navigator had his Maritime School, Cape St Vincent lighthouse on the most westerly point of Europe and the little populated beaches of the west coast where the west winds coming off the Atlantic whip up the waves so popular with the sand yachters and surfers. This coastline is well worth exploring for the spectacular views it offers.
 There is a selection of accommodation to choose from ranging from 2 bedroom houses and 3 bedroom houses with use of the magnificent resort pool to villas with 3 bedrooms, 4 bedrooms and 5 bedrooms individually set in their own gardens with private swimming pools. Properties are categorised as standard,  superior or deluxe - the variation reflecting age, furnishings and facilities. Guest facilties at Parque da Floresta are numerous. There is a babysitting/child care service, 24 hour reception with multingual staff, safety deposit boxes and an ATM machine, foreign currency exchange, internet service, doctor available (24hours), hair studio, seasonal activity clubs for children &  Parque Football Academy and special events and entertainment.
A wide choice of restaurants is available within a 5 - 10 minute drive but there is also a variety of dining options available on your doorstep at Parque da Floresta. The O Parque Restaurant serves breakfast - full English and continental from 07.30 to 11.00 hours and an a la carte menu in the evening from 19.00 hours to 22.00 hours. The Spike Bar is open daily from 8 'til late for snacks and light meals and the poolside Blue Lagoon Restaurant also offers light meals and  snacks from 12.00 - 17.00 hours with the bar open for slightly longer. Vicentino's Trattoria is open from 12.00 - 22.30 hours for Italian dishes and pizzas to eat in or take away. The Blue Wave Beach Bar is at Cabanas Vehlas Beach and serves light salads, snacks & fresh fish from 10.00 - 22.00 hours and the bar is open until midnight. A shuttle bus is available to transport guests the few kilometers from  Parque da Floresta to the Blue Wave.
Recreational facilities of all kinds are available for those of you who wish to mix a little lounging in the sun with some more energetic activities. The two outdoor heated pools (1 for children & 1 for adults) are located in the centre of the village.
The Health & Beauty Spa & Fitness Centre, Spa Floresta, offers a range of treatments and therapies, as well as a  personal fitness and exercise programme. The facilities are superb and include an air conditioned gymnasium and exercise studio, heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and hair studio. There are four floodlit tennis courts with a choice of surface from hard court to artificial grass court. Bookings for courts are taken at reception and lessons are available, especially for juniors and beginners.
 The Parque da Floresta 18 hole par 71 golf course was designed by the Spaniard, Pepe Gancedo. With no two holes even remotely similar, the variety the course offers is endless. The Vigia Golf Academy has the latest in video and computer technology to help analyse your swing and the resident PGA qualified professionals are on hand to offer tips  on how to improve your game.
