 Estrela da Luz is a brand new resort situated close to the heart of Praia da Luz which opened in March 2005. There are a total of 146 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, all built to a high specification which includes double glazing, electric shutters, under-floor heating and fully fitted kitchens. The resort is within a short walk of the beach and the bars and restaurants of the town.
 The apartments are all privately owned, decorated and furnished to the owner's taste, making each property an individual experience. The studios are a good size with a large living area, kitchen and bathroom. The one bedroom apartments obviously benefit from having a separate bedroom together with a bathroom, kitchen and living/dining room.
 In the two bedroom apartments, there is usually a double room with an en suite bathroom and a twin bedded room with the use of a separate bathroom. In the three bedroom apartments there are usually two bedrooms sharing a bathroom and a third bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Some apartments have mezzanine floors leading from the living room. All apartments have satellite TV (limited channels) and have balconies leading off the main living room. Some apartments also have balconies leading off bedrooms.
 There are two outdoor swimming pools (one family and one adults only), together with a paddling pool for children and an indoor heated pool with sauna and Jacuzzi. A tennis court is also available for the energetic. The Steve Davis Club Room contains a pool table, darts area and a big screen for live matches - children under 18 years of age are not allowed in the Club Room.
 The Gazebo bar is open poolside, serving snacks and lunches all day. It features an impressive menu that includes light main courses, homemade beef burgers, grilled foods, pasta dishes, fresh salads, children's meals and a good selection of hot and cold sandwiches. There are regular barbeques in the high season and a take-away menu is offered for guests at Estrela da Luz, who simply need to place their order at the Gazebo Bar.
 The gymnasium has muscle toning equipment and there is an exercise studio providing daily classes. Qualified staff are on hand to assist you in your training.
The Hugo Beaty Bar & Cafe serves breakfasts from 09h00 to 12h00 and include the traditional full English breakfast as well as healthier options such as cereals and yoghurts. From 12h00 there are homemade quiches, salads, pasties and other snacks, in addition to the Daily Special. The Sandwich Bar offers different types of bread to form the basis of your sandwich, which can then be filled with a selection of tantalising fillings.
 In the evening the bar becomes one of Luz's most chic places to chill out with an extensive selection of wines and beers and the bar stays open until 1am nightly.
Estrela da Luz reception is open 08.00-22.00 hours Monday to Friday and 08.00 - 20.00 hours on Saturday and Sunday: security cover is provided outside these hours.
