Sailing

The Portuguese have always been a seafaring nation and there is great sailing to be had along the Algarve coast. Whether you are looking for an afternoon's trip along the coast or even wish to do a sailing course during a week's holiday, all is available around Lagos and the Western Algarve.

The Marina de Lagos is the starting point for many sailing activities, this is very popular with boats heading from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean and is wonderful to walk round on a warm summer's evening. SAILING ACTIVITIES

The Sail Company www.sailcompany.com , based in Lagos and on Meia Praia hold courses on sailing catamarans and have yachts,  Bavaria 37' and Sun Odyssey 34' to 42', which can be chartered or used for individual lessons.

Charter Portugal www.charterportugal.com arrange 3 hour sailing trips on the 45'  "Sarah Dee", 1 hour Power Cruises on "Cunning Plan" and 1 hour high speed sports boat experiences on "Red Avenger".

Parque da Floresta charter the schooner "Isaura do Mar" every Wednesday, departing from the marina at 10am for Sagres, soft drinks, beer and wine is served while you cruise and lunch is served at anchor in one of the beautiful coves near Sargres.

The Bom Dia sails every day from Lagos Marina, with three different types of cruise along the coast, tickets can be purchased from our partners in Portugal, Chris and Kath.
