Take a look at www.algarve-retreats.co.uk for our full range of villas, apartments and 4/5* hotels in the Algarve.
Last month we suggested a trip to Zoomarine, a jeep safari and a super combi day out for 3 different Christmas present ideas for those visiting the Algarve next year. Here are two more and another one which is not so far from home.
The boat trip, on its own, is fantastic but the chances are you will see Dolphins too. We did this trip, for the second time, just a few weeks ago, in late September and, after a lengthy search, were rewarded by seeing a pod with young in it. It really is one of our favourites. Book a Dolphin Seafari trip from Lagos Marina at £22 - £29, dependent on season.
Or………… how about a day cruise on the Algarve Cruiser? Board the boat at various Ports along the Algarve coast and enjoy a leisurely cruise and lunch, all for £46 per head. It's a good present for Mum and Dad!
And, in the UK, there are Wine Educators wine events to choose from - all marvellous experiences, hosted by enthusiasts, where you learn a bit, taste some marvellous wine which is often paired with some excellent food and you meet others - indeed, you may meet Martin, himself. What a tremendous present for someone who enjoys wine. Click on Martin's website www.wine-educators.com to see the 2008 programme of events.
This month, Martin tells us all about the first of his new series of events on behalf of AICEP & ViniPortugal, which was held recently in Torquay. If you didn't make the first Portuguese roadshow, make a note of the one coming up at the Cardiff International Arena on 8th - 9th December and join Martin in some Portuguese wine tasting. In the meantime, whet your appetite with all the news from the first Portuguese road show.
This is a typical Portuguese village bar - restaurante with a bit of a buzz about it as some people call in for a drink and a chat and others for a meal. You will have to venture into the middle of the small village of Figueira to find Bar - Restaurante O Sapinho, where you will find a warm welcome and good, inexpensive food.
There are 4 different walks scheduled for this month, from fairly easy to challenging. Julie and her team are setting off from Tenoca and Malhao in the Loule vicinity, Poco Barreto near Sives and Alcalar between Lagos and Alvor - one thing is for sure, you will see countryside and views you haven't seen before. All the details you need are given in the November programme of walks. Just turn up at the appointed time and place to join in, walks start promptly at 10.30 hours.

Portugal leave it late to qualify for Euro 2008, needing a win and a draw from their last 2 matches, both to be played at home.
