Until recently we have concentrated on the Western Algarve but we have been asked many times for accommodation further east. We are very excited therefore to announce that we have linked with the Pestana Hotel group, co-owners with the Portuguese government of the famous Pousadas chain of historic hotels, to have top class hotels available in Alvor and Armacao de Pera. These hotels have at least 4 stars with the flagship Alvor Praia Hotel having 5 stars and so they will maintain the high quality associated with Algarve Retreats. Available amongst these are hotel rooms, apartments and at the Dom Joao, there are also villas. At Algarve Retreats we are, of course, rather passionate about all things Portuguese which is why we enjoy running our series of wine and restaurant articles. We have long wanted to run a recipe series and have, at last, persuaded a couple of chefs from around the Lagos area to take part. We hope to bring you a selection of Portuguese, or sometimes more particularly Algarvian, recipes over the next few months.
