The Wines of Portugal - more about Port
Wine EducatorsThis month Martin tells us all about his recent Port tasting event, what they tasted and what to buy for Christmas.  He touches on one of his favourite topics again - some wine & food matching tips and gives us some dates for our diaries.  We've been on a couple of Martin's wine tasting events - they are very informative and tremendous fun. That's how we met him by the way!  Click here to read the next article in the series

Restaurant feature - Restaurante Quinta de Sao Bento, Foia - Monchique
Restaurante Qunita de Sao Bento, Foia - Monchique Jackie and Tony took a trip to Monchique and Foia  and found The Dining Room at the Restaurante Quinta de Sao Bento.  There wasn't a menu but the food was well….. wow!…….you'd better read more! Click here for the lowdown.

Last minute Christmas Breaks
There's still time to book a Christmas break in the Algarve - here are a couple of suggestions……….

Marina Club, Lagos:
Lagos is thought, by many, to be the most attractive town in the Algarve, traditional in style and home to many Portuguese who live and work there.  Within easy walking distance of the town centre, the Marina Club Suite Hotel is the ideal location for a Christmas break.  There are studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments to choose from, the Regatta bar serves breakfast and there is now a newly opened, heated indoor pool.  Click here for full details

Estrela da Luz, Praia da Luz:
Although it is smaller & quieter than Lagos, Praia da Luz offers a good choice of restaurants and bars.  Estrela da Luz has studio, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments to choose from, a health and beauty club, indoor and outdoor heated pools and with a full range of Christmas holiday entertainment on offer at their Hugo Beaty Bar.  Click here for details

Flight hand luggage restrictions - new rules for liquids
You can now take certain liquids on board in your hand luggage but there are special rules on quantities and how they must be packed.  Click here to go to the Algarve Retreats information page on the UK airport security update.
