Salema is a pretty little fishing village in the Costa Vicentina national park, the last of the coastal villages going west from Lagos before Sagres and Cape St Vincent. Nestling between cliffs on either side, Salema has a surprisingly large sandy beach with local fishing boats drawn up on the sand. There are three or four very good restaurants such as “O Barco” and “Restaurate Atlantico” in the village. Adega do Cantor provides a unique opportunity to visit the winery that produces Sir Cliff Richard's wine, Vida Nova. The winery is situated at Quinta do Miradouro in Guia, just behind AlgarveShopping, a few kilometres northwest of Albufeira. A tour and wine tasting costs €7.50 pp which you need to book in advance.
