Only a few weeks ago, along with two “Portugal loving” friends, we chose to spend a weekend on a Wines of Portugal course run by Wine Educators International. There we met Martin Ward, MD, who taught us how to “taste” and steered us expertly through the wine-making regions of Portugal. Carefully selected wines, Ports and Madeiras, were presented for tasting and great fun was had by all as we developed some knowledge and appreciation of the wide variety of wines Portugal has to offer. We are proud to announce that Martin will be writing a regular piece on Portuguese wines, starting in January.
